Hair Art

I have always enjoyed creating artwork out of various materials. Sometimes I wish I was able to stick to just one medium, but that is not who I am....

Recently I began sewing some art for my hair. I think it started because I wanted a way to spruce up my wardrobe without really spending too much money. I found some really colorful felt made from recycled plastic bottles! The colors were bright and felt is so easy to work with.

I'm going to start adding these art pieces into my etsy shop over the next few days. I just did a photoshoot and have loads of pics to sort through.

Here is a fascinator/side headband in b&w:

Berkeley Works

I went to the Berkeley Marina to watch their free fireworks show. I sat down right along the water's edge and waited for the show. You could see fireworks going off all around the Bay... San Francisco, Oakland, Marin and lots more places that I am unable to name. We had awesome seats and a great time! My camera does not take good pictures in the dark, but I managed to snap a few that I think are neat...

Heading out of the Marina was quite interesting. There was a very large amount of people walking in a line to get over the bridge. I could not believe how many people actually had come to the event! There was a bunch of Hare Krishna's chanting and beating drums for the walk back and I have to admit it was the perfect thing to hear for that walk. It felt like it was keeping the crowd moving... plus there was a nice beat to walk to. I found the whole evening to be surreal! It was great...
