SF and sisters

Well folks, it's been a rad summer. I traveled to San Francisco for an awesome two week vacation.  Sisters unite!!!

Jessica and I ventured into the SF MOMA for the Cindy Sherman exhibit (which she has great pictures to post). There were several rooms dedicated to her large scale photos. Besides the amazing photographs from Cindy Sherman, there were tons of other awesome things to see!

Here's some of the artists that most inspired me:

Joseph Cornell:

Barry Mcgee:

Paul Klee:
Rothko:
No. 14, 1960
(this picture really doesn't do the colors justice as they are mesmerizing in person)

And just because, this is the view from the top floor of SF MOMA:

We also stopped at a really cool sculpture garden in Sonoma. There were a bunch of amazing, interesting sculptures as well as conceptual spaces done by various artists. Certainly a great interlude to all those lovely wineries! Here's a few of the sights that intrigued me:

I had a great trip! Sadly, of course, saying goodbye to my sister is never easy. But alas, the summer is dwindling down and school is about to start up. Fall is around the corner. I'm looking forward to it though :)

Winter hike.

I recently went on an amazing magical hike. I am currently having prints made of some pictures I took which will soon be on sale in my Etsy shop, yay! Winter is an introspective time of year, and nature is always the hub of it all.

Here's a few:

Haiku.

I put together some haikus with my photography for an Asian Religion class. Here are a few:

The idea is to have written haikus that embody Zen Buddhism. Nature is a primary topic in such haikus. The words are supposed to carry heavy imagery with an awakening spirit within it's short verses.

Cruisin 'round Cali

Recently I traveled a little past San Francisco and of course I took some pictures. I hope you enjoy them!

First I went to Briones Regional Park in the East Bay. It felt so wild there! Along the way we passed signs for Happy Valley Way and that is exactly what Briones turned out to be. A happy little valley, very wild and natural. The only thing I did not like was we had to drive past a PG&E electrical station. But, it was quickly passed and quickly forgotten.

We also drove to Daly City and wanted to check out Mussel Rock Beach.

Then it was off to Half Moon Bay!

On the trip back I took a few photos while we were driving. These are the only two that came out well!

The Rose Garden at Dusk

One of the best places to be in Berkeley when the sun is setting! Even though there were no roses, the garden is quite green and lovely. I'm posting two of my favorite pictures I took while I was up there.
