Magic Carpet Painting

If I had the chance to design my own magic carpet, it might look something like this. Gold paint is turning out to be the most difficult thing to capture in a photograph. In person, it looks rich and it shines in the light. Maybe I should be taking videos of my work?

You Are Beginning to Feel Relaxed

The process of making this hypnosis-inducing painting was very meditative. I loved every minute of it.

New Pins!

New felt pins have made their way into my etsy shop. I think this would look great pinned to a sweater or bag! More to come...

Happy Holidays!

Well, hello there

I have been embroidering my geometric designs onto some awesome vintage fabrics my sister gave me. They are so much fun to make!

The last one was influenced by a book of Polish paper cutting designs. It's an owl!

It's an untitled spiritual painting

I started this painting back in June. Since then I've pretty much been stuck. I was going to give up on it. For some reason I picked it back up last week and couldn't put it down. I finally finished it! Yay! More photos can be found in my shop.

Hair Art

I have always enjoyed creating artwork out of various materials. Sometimes I wish I was able to stick to just one medium, but that is not who I am....

Recently I began sewing some art for my hair. I think it started because I wanted a way to spruce up my wardrobe without really spending too much money. I found some really colorful felt made from recycled plastic bottles! The colors were bright and felt is so easy to work with.

I'm going to start adding these art pieces into my etsy shop over the next few days. I just did a photoshoot and have loads of pics to sort through.

Here is a fascinator/side headband in b&w:

Starry Eyed Golden Painting

I have a new painting in my etsy shop. Am I the only one or is it ridiculously hard to capture gold paint in a photograph?

This one is 10x10 inches on canvas board.

Oh Yokoo...

Why must you torture me with your awesomely knitted scarves. Which do I want more, the Pembroke or the Mothership? Hmmmm... I guess the Pembroke. No wait! The Mothership... No, Pembroke. Pembroke it is.

They come in other colors, but I'm digging the sweet pea green.

I know I'm not the only one who likes Yokoo's work. She's been featured in popular magazines and has become quite a success. You can check out her etsy shop here: click to see her shop

Note to my family: Nudge and a wink... don't forget May 16th ;) !

I've been wanting this...

I love hats and I have been wanting this cloche for ages. It's been a favorite of mine for quite some time.

My birthday is coming up in May...

The designer is Liza Rietz and she is from Portland, OR. Her etsy shop can be found here: click me click me

I'm pretty sure I like the brown linen the best. And this is the link to the hat pictured above: brown linen cloche w/ extra pics

Allergies suck

I have been suffering from some of the worst allergies I have ever had. I didn't even have allergies last spring! Oh well, I'm just very happy to feel more like myself and able to finally get back to what I love to do! I have a new linocut and have whipped up some new prints. Here is my test print from the cut. I usually do the first in black, but ran out. I have been experimenting with color combos and started using acrylic paint for the background. I'm really excited about my new prints! I'm hoping for some sunshine tomorrow so I can get a photoshoot going... I'd like to get some of these new prints up on my etsy shop tomorrow. From now on, I'm going to try to have a new linocut a week!
